My teeth were great till my son died year and half ago. I'm a senior and my teeth changed so much since couple broken fillings fell out cracks on some and discolouration. With some disabilities I couldn't get around on my own without my son. I finally went to Sheppard West then Dr Bernstein Dental last year because they are close by. The staff hygienists and dental assistants are experienced great very caring. They make you very comfortable. My dentist Dr. S. Joshi is amazing. He is so gentle explains everything he will be doing before hand and often asks how you are doing. I had new fillings done and old ones replaced. The crowns took long and are expensive; but my goodness they are worth it. Everyone compliments my smile again. The Practice Manager Miguel is so charming and helpful. He knows dentistry and explains anything you need to know. We always complain about the dentists' charges. The public should see what the dentist does all the intricate work they do in these small places. Also the strain they go through on their eyes necks backs and arms. It's very tiring for them while we lay there comfortable. They do everything for your teeth pegs bridges false crowns/caps veneers Invisalign even cosmetic bleaching whitening etc. all in the one office. The freezing injections are the only things we've always hated no matter where you go. They apply freezing gel first on the gums. Maddy the Senior Accts co-ord puts through your claims on your insurance and they even make payment arrangements for your balance or invoice. Sheppard Ave West Dental runs such a great comfortable practice I keep recommending them to everyone. I love this dental office they're awesome. Try them.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bernstein for a long time and since he left I was afraid of no longer recieving such care in the future. Nevertheless Sheppard West Dental has reintroduced itself as the best care in town. I went in for a cleaning & to fix a couple of cavities today. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile. The actual dental cleaning I recieved had to be one of the best ones I recieved (sorry forgot her name) she really took her time to deeply scrape each tooth and taught me new techniques in tooth brushing. After that I had to get my cavities fixed. I am always afraid of potential pain during cavities so I told that to Dr. Joshi and I actually did not feel one thing. Very professional respectful and educational. I am sure all the dentists are as good! Thank you very much

Nov 2024 I visited the Dentist for the usual cleaning polishing and check up. Everyone was great very courteous and because they were a little behind they presented me with a treat at Timmy's. I would definitely recommend this group Sheppard West Dental. Due to a childhood dentist experience I am not comfortable with ANY dentist. My most recent experience with Dr. Sean was wonderful. He me gave me laughing gas as requested but it's hard to say if I needed it. He and his assistants were most gentle and caring and explained everything to me before doing it. No pain at any time including the initial freezing needle. I will visit again.

I have been receiving the most beautiful experience at this facility for about 10 years now and would highly recommend. I am always made to feel valued appreciated and a warm and welcoming smile is the first thing I noticed. The service is professional impeccable competent. It really feels like family. With absolute pleasure! I took my husband Joe in as he was having a lot of pain and swelling on R side. He was met with such friendly and helpful support staff at Bernstein dental it put him at complete ease. Dr B was extraordinarily gentle and kindly he was what we all want in a dentist 100% and within a shot while figuring out Joe’s situation and relieved him of all anxiety. All done! And such amazing instructions for after care!!! Thank you to all support staff at the clinic and Dr B your rock!

I have been to this dental clinic 3 or 4 times now. This is my new Dentist. Each and every time it has been a great experience. The staff are super nice and always professional. The oral hygienist was the best I have ever had. The office environment is clean and Dr. David Abraham is excellent. They also bill my insurance directly and send reminders which I love. 5 stars all the way.

The staff are always kind welcoming and very sweet Dr. B is very knowledgeable and will accommodate and work around your weaknesses to make you feel comfortable to get the work done he’s also very funny! I can’t say enough how caring and considerate everyone is. Highly recommend!

I go here regularly and they're always helpful. Even when there was a problem with our insurance the receptionist was very understanding and said to tell my mom (the one whose insurance it was) to contact her to sort it out. Luckily it was sorted in the end.

Dr Sanjay Joshi

General Dentist

Dr. Sanjay Joshi has been a part of the Sheppard West Dental team for many years. He graduated from Case Western Reserve University of Cleveland in 2001, and has been enjoying dentistry ever since. He speaks several languages.
Dr David Abraham

General Dentist

Dr. David Abraham received an Honours BSc in Life Sciences degree from McMaster University, followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association, and the Alpha Omega Dental Society.

Dr. Abraham prides himself in creating genuine connections with his patients and takes a comprehensive approach to their care. Dr. Abraham creates a warm and welcoming environment, ensuring a calm and comfortable dental experience.

Dr. Abraham is committed to staying at the forefront of dental advancements and continually engages in the latest research and developments. He specializes in fillings, crowns and bridges, root canals, extractions, pediatrics, and nitrous oxide sedation.

In 2022, Dr. Abraham partook in a dental outreach mission to Grenada, where he had the opportunity to help many underserved individuals, and he plans to continue his dental volunteer work. Dr. Abraham grew up in Thornhill. He enjoys playing and watching sports, traveling, and experimenting with new recipes in his spare time.
Dr Kelly Suarez

General Dentist

Dr. Kelly Suarez is a dedicated senior associate dentist with over 15 years of experience in both general and cosmetic dentistry. Known for a meticulous and compassionate approach to care, she is committed to creating a comfortable and supportive environment for patients and staff alike.

She brings extensive experience in dental office management and team leadership, while also excelling independently when needed. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Kelly Suarez enjoys building strong relationships with a diverse patient community.
Dr Rano Burton

Orthodontist

Dr. Rano Burton was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, and as a proud northern girl, she has always loved the great outdoors. When she is not in the office, you’ll often find her biking around town or walking her beloved dog, Stanley. Dr. Burton’s academic journey began at Trinity College, University of Toronto, followed by earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Liverpool in 1991. She then completed her Master of Science and Diploma in Orthodontics at the University of Manitoba in 1997.

Since then, she has had the privilege of working in private practice while also sharing her passion for orthodontics as a clinical instructor—first with the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry, and now with the Graduate Orthodontic Program at the University of Western Ontario’s Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. As an Invisalign® provider since 2002, she has treated over 1,000 orthodontic cases with Invisalign aligners, earning Diamond Provider status.
