Children's Dental Services
Regular dental care beginning in early childhood helps to establish great oral hygiene routines that can last a lifetime. At Sheppard West Dental we tailor our dental services to meet your child's needs.
Your child’s dental visit may be covered by the Canada Dental Benefit (CDB).
Early Positive Dental Experiences
Our team of dental professionals at Sheppard West Dental are committed to helping children feel at ease during their dental appointments so they can maintain good oral health now and into adulthood.
We offer a complete range of dental services for North York kids and their developing smiles and are dedicated to providing your child with the most positive dental experience possible.
We understand that going to the dentist can be an intimidating experience, so we strive to keep the environment calm and friendly. Our team will work at your child's pace, take breaks if they get overwhelmed, and explain each step of the process.
Your Child's First Visit
The Canadian Dental Association recommends that infants be seen by a dentist within six months of their first tooth coming in or by the age of 12 months. The goal of these early checkups is to have your child visit the dentist before dental problems have an opportunity to develop, and to catch small problems before they become more severe.
Dental Services for Kids
At Sheppard West Dental, our services can be tailored to meet the needs of your child's developing smile. Keeping your child's teeth and gums healthy from now into adulthood is one of our focuses.
Preventive Dental Hygiene
Visiting the dentist for regular exams and cleanings when your child is young will help preserve the primary teeth until they are ready to fall out and be replaced by adult teeth. At each appointment, we will review proper oral hygiene techniques to ensure that your child has the skills they need to keep their teeth healthy.
Restorative Dental Services
If your child is at risk of decay, develops a cavity, or plays sports, your dentist may also recommend restorative treatments such as dental fillings and mouth guards.
